Notes

1. The original Great Moor Street station was replaced by a new 4 platform station on 28.09.1874. This new station was on a higher level than the original station. Prior to this date there appears to have been a physical connection with the Lancashire and Yorkshire line near Trinity Street station. Some sources deny that such a connection existed, but it is clearly shown on early OS maps. Although the running of actual trains between the two routes would have been impossible, wagons could have been exchanged via a siding and a small turntable.
